Migraine Headaches

A migraine is a throbbing headache that is often accompanied by several side effects, including nausea and sensitivity to light and sound.  Migraines are believed to be due to both environmental and genetic factors, as over 66% of cases of migraines run in families. Migraines are initially treated with pain medication such as ibuprofen, but people who experience migraines frequently are prescribed special medication such as imitrex.  Migraines are worsened by physical activity and people who experience migraines usually are instructed to rest when experiencing pain. Migraines are experienced around the world as over 15% of people are effected.
