Due to pressure in sports, steroids can seem like an easy way to help boost an athlete's abilities, however it is illegal to consume them and also against the rules of most sports leagues with a potential consequence of suspension or terminated career. Steroids themselves mimic testosterone that already exists in the body which when released drive boys through puberty and thus make females more masculine looking and sounding.
